Omega 3 fatty acids have clinically proven health benefits for a number of health conditions. Discover more about their impact during pregnancy, as well as the role they play in heart, eye and brain health below.

Based on current evidence, many authorities and scientific organisations worldwide have set their EPA and DHA intake recommendations for a variety of conditions.

In Europe, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recommend a daily intake of 250mg EPA + DHA to the general adult population for the maintenance of normal eye, brain and cardiovascular health.

In the USA, the American Health Association recommend a daily intake of 500mg or more of EPA + DHA to the general adult population for the maintenance of normal heart health.

Also, the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL) set a recommendation of at least 500 mg/day EPA + DHA to the general adult population for cardiovascular health and 200 mg/day DHA to pregnant and lactating women.
