
Based on current evidence, many authorities and scientific organisations worldwide have set their EPA and DHA intake recommendations for a variety of conditions.
In Europe, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recommend a daily intake of 250mg EPA + DHA to the general adult population for the maintenance of normal eye, brain and cardiovascular health.
In the USA, the American Health Association recommend a daily intake of 500mg or more of EPA + DHA to the general adult population for the maintenance of normal heart health.
Also, the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL) set a recommendation of at least 500 mg/day EPA + DHA to the general adult population for cardiovascular health and 200 mg/day DHA to pregnant and lactating women.
